QTC Registered Professional Development Promotional Guidelines

1. Introduction

Promoting the status of your professional learning offering/s as Quality Teaching Council (QTC) Registered Professional Development (PD) identifies that your organisation has completed a rigorous assessment and approval process to provide professional learning that contributes to mandatory requirements for maintaining teacher accreditation.

Teachers accredited at Proficient Teacher level are required to complete a minimum of 50 hours of QTC Registered PD to maintain accreditation.

Teachers accredited at Highly Accomplished Teacher level are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of QTC Registered PD to maintain accreditation.

Teachers accredited at Lead Teacher level are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of QTC Registered PD to maintain accreditation.

A BOSTES QTC logo is available to help teachers to easily identify QTC Registered PD.

This document provides guidelines for using the BOSTES QTC logo and referring to your endorsement to provide QTC Registered PD. You should provide graphic designers and printers with a copy of this guide.

2. BOSTES QTC logo and information text

The BOSTES QTC logo should be used to indicate the status of your professional learning offering/s as QTC Registered PD. There are three levels of QTC Registered Development - Proficient Teacher, Highly Accomplished Teacher and Lead Teacher. Use of the logo must be accompanied by the information text outlined below.

For Highly Accomplished Teachers BOSTES QTC logo Completing <course > will contribute X hours and X minutes of QTC Registered PD addressing <list standard descriptors> from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Highly Accomplished Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
For Lead Teachers BOSTES QTC logo Completing <course > will contribute X hours and X minutes of QTC Registered PD addressing <list standard descriptors> from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Lead Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

3. Endorsed provider reference

You should refer to your endorsed provider status in text as follows:
<Organisation> is endorsed to provide QTC Registered Professional Development for teachers accredited at <accreditation level> Teacher.

You may only use the BOSTES QTC logo when promoting QTC Registered PD (see section 2).  You are unable to use the BOSTES QTC logo when referring to your endorsement to provide QTC Registered PD. 

4. Using the logo

4.1. Minimum height

The graphic should not appear smaller than 12.5 mm measured from the top of outer circle to the bottom of the outer circle. For digital use, the minimum height is 74 pixels.

4.2. Clear space

The graphic should appear with clear space on all sides equal to the height of the outer circle, as marked by X below.

4.3. Available formats

The logo is available in .jpeg, .eps and .png formats. The following versions are available:

•    colour - for use on a white background

•    white’, reversed out - for use on a dark background

•    mono – for use where one colour printing is required.

4.4. Colours

The colour for the logo is:

4.5. Use

The logo can be used on training and marketing materials directly related to professional learning that is QTC Registered Professional Development. This may include course or event:

•    Flyers/ brochures

•    Webpages

•    Invites

•    Manuals/ workbooks/ agendas

•    Emails

•    Presentations.

It should not be used on corporate materials such as stationary.

5. Terms of use

5.1. The granting of the logo relates to your organisation’s endorsement to provide QTC Registered PD only. It does not constitute BOSTES endorsement of all activities, products, services and policies of the organisation and this should never be implied.

5.2. You may only use the logo and endorsed provider text reference:

•    following written confirmation from BOSTES of your endorsement to provide QTC Registered PD

•    for the teacher accreditation level/s indicated on your BOSTES letter of endorsement

•    for the period indicated on your BOSTES letter of endorsement.

5.3. You must immediately stop using the logo:

•    if you breach any government legislation

•    at the conclusion of your endorsement period

•    if you are advised by BOSTES to cease using the logo for any reason.

5.4. BOSTES reserves the right to revoke use of the logo at any time, including where your organisation is using the graphic in a way which, in BOSTES’s reasonable opinion, is likely to mislead or deceive.
