Accreditation at Professional Competence - Casual Teachers Support Materials
27 Nov 2007
The NSW Institute of Teachers is aware that the majority of new scheme teachers commence their teaching career in either a casual, temporary or part-time capacity. This can make their accreditation process more complex than if they were permanently employed.
In order to support this group of teachers, the Institute has developed several support documents aimed at helping them and their schools better understand the accreditation process:
1. Advice for Casual Temporary and Part-Time Teachers: Supporting casual, temporary and part-time teachers to achieve accreditation at Professional Competence
2. Advice for Teacher Accreditation Authorities and Schools : Supporting casual, temporary and part-time teachers to achieve accreditation at Professional Competence
3. The Teacher Evidence Diary
This is designed to assist casual, temporary and part-time teachers to meet the accreditation requirements at the level of Professional Competence by outlining the ways in which evidence can be collected and supporting an understanding of the indicators for each Standard at Professional Competence
You can find these support documents here, under Supporting Documentation.
Other support documents available are Information for New Scheme Teachers and the Professional Teaching Standards.
