The Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) is working with higher education providers to implement Great Teaching, Inspired Learning (GTIL) initiatives to lift university entry standards for teaching and ensure the next generation of teachers are thoroughly prepared for the classroom.
High academic achievers (GTIL 1.1)
From 2016, a minimum standard of three Band 5 HSC results, including one in English, applies to undertaking an accredited undergraduate teaching degree.
