Quality Teaching Council (QTC) members

The QTC is made up of the Chair, 11 members elected by and representing teachers, and 11 members appointed by the Minister

In 2016, for the first time, early childhood teachers have representation on the Council.

What does the Council do?

The QTC advises the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) about teacher quality, including teaching standards and the accreditation of teachers. More about the role of the Council
