Early childhood teachers should apply for accreditation now
20 Jul 2016
From 18 July it became mandatory for all NSW early childhood teachers to be accredited to work in an approved NSW early childhood service.
To date, BOSTES has accredited almost 5,000 early childhood teachers.
Many early childhood teachers have submitted documentation to BOSTES in the fortnight leading up to the 18 July. Their applications are being processed.
Early childhood teachers who have submitted the necessary documentation will receive email confirmation that they have been accredited at Proficient Teacher but due to the high number of applications received in July this may take some time.
Providers can continue to employ early childhood teachers at their service after 18 July, regardless of whether they have provided their confirmation of accreditation. BOSTES will be working with providers and services in the second half of 2016 to ensure all eligible early childhood teachers have been accredited.
