5 Feb 2015
From 5 January 2015 BOSTES became responsible for the provisional and conditional accreditation of all NSW teachers. This includes
- assessing the qualifications of new teachers to ensure they meet the benchmark for provisional or conditional accreditation;
- ensuring each applicant has a current Working With Children Check clearance, and;
- directing overseas trained teachers to undertake an English Language Proficiency Test
This means that Teacher Accreditation Authorities (TAA’s) can no longer make provisional or conditional accreditation decisions.
BOSTES has communicated the changes to all registered TAA’s and the heads of each of the school sectors.
Teachers seeking accreditation to teach in NSW should visit the website to create an account and an application for provisional or conditional accreditation.
Teachers are also required to provide documentation including:
- certified transcripts;
- proof of identity, and;
- Working With Children clearance from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
