Accreditation at Proficient Teacher (for casual and short-term temporary teachers)

BOSTES will host online information sessions on Accreditation at Proficient Teacher throughout 2016.

The one-hour session is only for casual and short-term temporary teachers and will focus on developing an understanding of the requirements for Proficient Teacher and providing advice for teachers employed on a casual or short-term temporary basis.

The session will cover five modules:

  • Module 1 - BOSTES and Accreditation at Proficient Teacher
  • Module 2 - The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • Module 3 - Roles and Responsibilities
  • Module 4 - Collecting and Annotating Evidence
  • Module 5 - Advice for casual and short-term teachers.

Term 4

Information sessions for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher candidates

BOSTES will host live online information sessions for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher candidates throughout 2016. The one hour session will provide information on the requirements for accreditation, The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, the three sources of evidence, and how the accreditation decision is made.

Sessions start promptly at 4pm.

Term 4

Casual and short-term temporary teachers working towards accreditation at Proficient Teacher

BOSTES will be hosting information sessions on accreditation at Proficient Teacher in regional and metropolitan areas of NSW throughout 2016.

These one and a half hour sessions are only for casual and short-term temporary teachers who are working towards accreditation at Proficient Teacher. The sessions will focus on developing an understanding of the requirements for Proficient Teacher and providing advice for teachers employed on a casual or short-term temporary basis.

It will not cover information on Maintenance of Accreditation or the accreditation process for pre-2004 teachers.

The session will cover five modules:

  • Module 1 - BOSTES and Accreditation at Proficient Teacher
  • Module 2 - The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • Module 3 - Roles and Responsibilities
  • Module 4 - Collecting and Annotating Evidence
  • Module 5 - Advice for casual and short-term teachers.

Term 4

Using PD to maintain accreditation at Proficient Teacher as a Casual Teacher

BOSTES will be hosting a one and a half hour session for Casual and Short-Term Temporary Teachers who are maintaining accreditation at Proficient Teacher.

The session will focus on developing a stronger understanding of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and providing advice on how casual teachers can use Professional Development activities to maintain accreditation.

The session will cover 4 modules:

  • Module 1: The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • Module 2: Types of Professional Learning
  • Module 3: Key school-based responsibilities
  • Module 4: Using the BOSTES online log

Completing Using PD to maintain accreditation at Proficient Teacher for Casual Teachers will contribute hour and 30 minutes of QTC Registered PD addressing standards descriptors 6.1.2 and 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher accreditation in NSW.
